Cameras & Lighting for Recording Video Interviews
In this quick tutorial video, Paul Richards takes you through our multi-camera video interview tech setup. We go over the classic 3 camera interview video recording layout for cameras to provide a straightforward shot and two angled camera shots. If you are looking into how to setup professional video recordings this is a great place to start.
We start by taking you through our camera setup. What a lot people don’t realize is the power of live video production for video recording. If you are still using multiple cameras that are not connected you may be wasted hours in post production when all you need is a live video producer. In our setup, we have all the cameras connected back to our video production switcher running vMix. This allows us to create our video recording live without the need for post production. Another helpful tool which amplifies our video production quality is the use of pan, tilt and zoom presets in the PTZOptics cameras. These presets are usually saved before the interview and allow the producer to quickly zoom in or our remotely to craft additional high definition video compositions to switch between. This is shown very nicely in our webinar where we have a 5 camera shoot but 4 of the 5 cameras have PTZ capabilities. So each PTZ camera actually provides atleast 2 additional camera views giving the entire production almost 10 different angles.
Live Video Interview Recordings
The webinar below is an example of a live video recording. There are many benefits to live streaming a video interview which we have covered in other blog posts but one of the most powerful benefits is the live viewer engagement. During this live video interview we also included questions from the live audience which provides a crowd-sourced mind share effect but also engages our potential customers. Create video content like this is critical throughout the buyers journey and if you are able to interview a customer and provide a live testimonial this type of content can be very compelling for potential customers. Also, from an SEO standpoint the live viewers are adding to your overall watch time on Facebook and/or YouTube (we live streamed this episode to both platforms) and helps promote your videos organic ranking as well.
In the above webinar, we go into more detail and share helpful tips for recording video interviews. We review over the shoulder camera angles, lighting and answer questions from a live audience. We review the benefits of video recordings and how to make sure your next video interview is a success.
